Service Employees International Union (Local 32BJ) contribution to the pension and welfare fund is due today. To avoid interest and penalties, pay by the end of October.

If your building has a central heating system, you must provide heat every day from Oct. 1 through May 31. Between 10 p.m. and 6 p.m. you must maintain a temperature of at least 62ºF in your tenants’ apartments regardless of the outside temperature.

If your building has three or more apartments, today is the last day to file your building registration form with the Dept. of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD). This year, HPD has extended the deadline for filing your building registration to this date.

Today is the last day to file 2024 annual rent registration forms with the DHCR for your rent-stabilized

apartments. The DHCR requires annual rent registrations to be submitted online.

Independence Day is a Service Employees’ Union (Local 32BJ) contract holiday.

It’s also a Sanitation Department workers’ holiday, which means there’s no garbage pickup

or street cleaning.
